During your time at Northwestern, alumni, friends and parents were making gifts to the University that had a direct impact on the quality of your NU experience. This support comprises a measurable and important portion of the University’s annual budget. Without support from individuals, the education you received would have been drastically different. The Senior Class Gift is your chance to express your appreciation for your soon-to-be alma mater, to create a legacy for the Class of 2009, and to continue the important tradition of giving here at Northwestern.
Senior Class Gift. At major universities across the country, the Senior Class Gift is a collective financial contribution from the members of the senior class to their alma mater in honor of graduation. Giving to your Senior Class Gift is a great opportunity to make a meaningful gift and celebrate your years at Northwestern. When you participate in this effort, you join loyal alumni, faculty, parents, corporations, foundations, and other friends of Northwestern who support the University every year through a tradition of philanthropy.
The Class of 2009. The Class of 2009 is planning to break records. Last year, the Class of 2008 set a new record with 45% participation. This year, we’re setting our sights high for the Class of 2009 with a goal of 50% participation. Help your class make history, and make a tangible difference at Northwestern!
Make a greater impact. As part of the Class of 2009 Senior Class Gift Challenge, for every contribution from seniors, University Trustees will donate $50 to the Northwestern Annual Fund. Take advantage of this opportunity and make your gift go further for NU this year!
Choose where the money goes. Click here to learn more about directing your gift to the area of Northwestern that most closely matches your areas of interest. This includes gifts to any area of the 2008-2009 Northwestern Annual Fund or to special programs that are particularly important to you, including Dance Marathon, WNUR, your academic department, sports team, or Greek organization.
Celebrate and be recognized. Seniors who make a gift this year will be invited to a special Goose Island recognition event during Senior Week. The names of all Senior Class Gift donors will also be listed on our online Donor Honor Roll, listed in the graduation issue of the Daily, and engraved on a plaque displayed in Norris for years to come.
