Title: Merck Alliance to Reduce Disparities in Diabetes

Application Deadline: 23 May 2008
Award: $400,000
Eligibility: To decrease health care disparities/enhance quality of health care by improving diabetes (Type 2) prevention/management services to minority, low-income underserved adult populations. Should include community involvement in program. Universities/colleges eligible. Grants up to $400,000 for 5 years. First submit LOI. June 20, 2008 Merck notifies applicants to submit full proposal; August 25, 2008 full proposal deadline.

Title: Target Store- Arts Grants
LOI Deadline: 01 March 2009
Application Deadline: 31 May 2009
Award: $1,000 to $3,000
Eligibility: Target funds arts programs that bring the arts to schools or make it affordable for youth and families to participate in cultural experiences, such as school touring programs, field trips to the theater or symphony, or artists residencies and workshops in schools. Programs that make the arts accessible to school children are of particular interest to us.

Target will accept grant applications online between March 1 and May 31, 2009, for programs taking place between October 1, 2009, and September 30, 2010. You will receive notification about your request by September 30, 2009. Most grants average between $1,000 and $3,000.

Title: Target Store- Early Childhood Reading Grants
LOI Deadline: 01 March 2009
Application Deadline: 31 May 2009
Award: $1,000 to $3,000
Eligibility: Reading is an essential element in a child’s educational process. Reading grants are awarded to schools, libraries and nonprofit organizations, supporting programs such as weekend book clubs and after-school reading programs that foster a love of reading and encourage children, from birth through age 9, to read together with their families.

Target will accept grant applications online between March 1 and May 31, 2009, for programs taking place between October 1, 2009, and September 30, 2010. You will receive notification about your request by September 30, 2009. Most grants average between $1,000 and $3,000.

Title: Editorial Photography Awards for Student Photojournalists
Application Deadline: 01 May 2010
Award: Four student grants of $5,000 each.
Eligibility: Student award applicants must be under the age of 30 and currently enrolled in photojournalism courses at an accredited college or university.
